This is more of a review of the Amazon shopping experience rather than these glasses.When I needed to get a new pair of prescription eyeglasses, I did what I always did for the 45 years that I have been wearing glasses – I went to the neighborhood opticians. However, I never really liked the experience. 1) I have a fat asian head and so the selection of frames was always limited and so I would have to go to several stores eating up a ton of time. 2) I don’t like the sales tactics. I’m a salesperson and have taught classes on sales so I know why they are doing what they are doing and I can even play along and “game their game” but is that necessary? I just want a simple, hassle free experience. 3) I want the opinion of others of how glasses look on me, not that of a salesperson who I don’t know, who doesn’t know me and is more motivated by a commission than how something might look on me. 4) Glasses have gotten EXPENSIVE. The estimate that I got this most recent time was $700+. Wow.So this time around, I considered buying online. After looking at various other sites, I chose Amazon. They had a broad selection to choose from. I love the fact that they consider eye glasses as fashion and so I ended up buying several pairs, trying them on at my leisure at home and getting the opinions of family. I then returned all the pairs that I didn’t want for free. As for the lens, I used lensabl and replacealens for the lens. The final price tag, under $200.The process isn’t perfect and there are some steps that can be daunting, but I am happy with the end result. I think there is a huge potential for Amazon to further streamline the process.As for these glasses, they are solid, good construction. I’m not a fashionista, but I like how they look on me. And, they are very affordable.
